Adult Individual Counseling and Psychotherapy
Premarital and Couples Counseling
Group Therapy and Support Groups

Angela has experienced that no two people are alike and yet we each need the same thing; to have a safe and secure connection with another person. Often it is within ourselves that healing has to occur first before that connection can happen with another person. Angela focuses on that individual healing process to achieve emotional and psychological health, which results in transformed behaviors and relationships. Her style is both warm and engaging, as well as challenging and direct. Angela attunes to her clients’ needs and provides empathy while addressing difficult situations. Through the use of therapeutic treatment modalities, such as Psychodynamic, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Prepare/Enrich for couples, Angela can help her clients meet their goals. Biblically-based counseling is available upon request. Collaborating with family-law attorneys and divorce coaches, other healthcare providers, and family members may be of added support in the therapeutic process with Angela.
Angela addresses the following clinical counseling issues:
Anxiety, Depression, Developmental trauma and Attachment trauma, Complex PTSD, Dissociation, Relational stress, Domestic abuse, Life Adjustments (e.g. Divorce and co/parallel-parenting), Grief, Codependency/Addiction Recovery and Narcissistic Abuse and Gaslighting.
Background (Education & Experience)
Angela is a graduate of Roosevelt University in the Clinical Professional Psychology program, having received her Master of Arts degree. While she was in graduate school, she volunteered in case management for a postpartum care nonprofit and a community mental health center, Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health (ABCMH). Angela later interned and eventually became an employee at ABCMH while earning her clinical counseling licensure. She was part of a team of clinicians who provided individual and group counseling to adults with chronic mental health problems. This experience helps her assess if other services or a higher level of care is recommended for a client. Angela also has prior work experience in private and corporate finance and human resources departments, which can be valuable in relating further with her clients’ stressors.
Angela is the business owner of Angela Fitch LCPC PLLC and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois, practicing psychotherapy in-person for Illinois residents or tele-health for Illinois and Florida residents. Angela is a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP), a national certified counselor (NCC) and a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator. The licensure and certifications require continual education and training. She is an active member of the Illinois Counselors Association (ICA) and the Illinois Chapter of the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). To keep extra busy, Angela may also teach graduate counseling courses at a local university. She is an involved mother with her high school daughter and son in college, and although a dog mom at heart, she is a cat mom to Lulu, a siamese mix breed. For enjoyment she travels, hikes, practices yoga, and attends the performing arts and festivals. Angela is interested in world history and occasionally facilitates small group Bible studies. While she was raised in the Midwest, she comes from a diverse, multicultural background of Jewish, Asian Indian and West African families.
Angela accepts private pay as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare PPO insurances. To schedule an in-person or telehealth appointment, Angela can be reached at either phone or email.
