Megan is a licensed clinical social worker with a decade of experience providing individual and family therapy for adolescents and adults. She has a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago, and she’s a Certified Human Kinetics Coach. Megan started out her career as a high school social worker and girls’ varsity basketball coach for six years in the city of Chicago. She also worked in group private practice for three years until founding her own practice, Wholehearted Therapy PLLC.
Megan’s practice is dedicated to helping individuals, ages 12 and up, who are struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, low self-esteem, body-image issues, life transitions, relationship problems, and school or sports performance issues. Megan has personal experience working and competing within the worlds of academics and sports, and therefore, has a strong understanding of and passion for supporting students, athletes, teachers, coaches, and other academic professionals. She loves helping her clients build the confidence and skills necessary for successfully navigating the many pressures and demands they face.
By using a compassionate, holistic, and strengths-based approach, Megan helps clients take control of their mental health by using evidence-based modalities, including ACT, CBT, and DBT. While working with athletes, she incorporates sports psychology methods to help them overcome performance anxiety, self-doubt, mental blocks, injuries, transitioning out of sports, and more. She supports all of her clients with developing mindfulness skills and self-care practices, such as sleep, exercise, and nutrition.
Megan offers in-person sessions on Wednesdays from 3:30-7:30pm as well as telehealth sessions on Mondays through Saturdays.
